Rising PGA Tour star Keith Mitchell and European Tour favourite Eddie Pepperell have both been given early starts in their Masters debuts. Mitchell is set to start at 1-41pm BST with Pepperell close behind at 2-58pm BST.
With both facing their first Masters, expectations will be tempered, but Pepperell in particular has an experienced man on the bag in Mick Doran – who knows the Augusta track as well as anyone.
In total Mizuno expects to have 8 players starting this years Masters playing its equipment – with 4 previous major winners. Of the 8 Mizuno sets – there are 3 JPX and 5 with MP irons. The most likely Mizuno winners are likely to come from outside the official #teammizuno pool – according to bookmakers. The reigning Valspar Championship winner and current US Open Champion will both start with Mizuno irons in play.
However Pepperell was the Mizuno player drawing most attention during practice.
Walked the course with Eddie yesterday and the following was crazy. The crowds love Eddie – as interested in his comedy and Twitter account as they were in his golf. He’s been a breath of fresh air.
