Six piece Ti ‘Tour Ready’ edition
The MP-650 is a 450cc ‘Tour Ready’ driver engineered to combine high average ball speeds with a high launch angle and low spin rates – producing noticeable distance gains in the right hands.
As a Tour Ready edition, the MP-650 driver heads are from the same production line as those carried by Mizuno’s PGA European Tour Workshop. With low spin rates and workability engineered for tour players and skilled players, the MP-650 will be available in limited availability.
The MP-650 is a stripped back concept that revels in its simplicity – with high spec materials, ball speed and solid impact sound prioritised over adjustability. The new Forged 6-4 Ti face produces Mizuno’s fastest ever ball speeds, with its 3 thickness design maintaining those ball speeds across the widest possible hitting area. A deep traditional head with two internal weight pods, keeps spin rates to a minimum to convert ball speed to real yards on the course.
Aimed squarely at the skilled player the pear shaped MP-650 sets up just open of square, offering the potential to shape the ball in both directions. Mizuno worked on the MP-650 with its contracted professionals throughout 2011 to perfect the shape – with feedback from major winner Stacy Lewis, rising star Chris Wood and Luke Donald.

Our tour players don't ask about materials or anything too technical – they just want to see how the head sets up and check where the ball goes. The MP-650 was designed with a lot of input from the tour - so it sits slightly open, allowing our players to shape the ball both ways. The 6-piece Ti head generates very high average ball speeds across the face. In the hands of a solid ball striker, the feel off the face and ball speeds are very impressive.
