New ‘Team Mizuno’ players announce themselves in European Tour shake up

Oliver Fisher, Jorge Campillo, Lasse Jensen and Eddie Pepperell post 2018 confirmations.

Mizuno has always been a manufacturer to stick with it’s players for the long term – 6x major winner Nick Faldo, and former world number #1’s Luke Donald / Stacy Lewis being prime examples.  Not normally a company for signing multiple new players in one go.

Oliver Fisher was first to announce his Mizuno association on Instagram.

So the 10th January 2018 might have come as a shock to people who follow the golf sponsorship game.  In what started to resemble football’s transfer deadline day – 4 new players announced themselves to ‘Team Mizuno’ for the season.  Englishman Oliver Fisher opened the floodgates on Instagram with a picture of his new Mizuno bag and MP-18 irons.  Followed swiftly by Spain’s Jorge Campillo on Twitter – with a more unusual mix of MP-18 and JPX900 irons.  Lasse Jensen from Denmark preferred an Instagram shot of his MP-18 SC irons – linked to his Twitter account.  Eddie Pepperell was less conventional – responding to a followers Tweet to make his announcement.

Spain’s Jorge Campillo will start 2018 with an unconventional mixed set of MP-18 and JPX900

Denmark’s Lasse Jensen opted for a picture of his MP-18 SC irons to announce himself into #teammizuno

On the PGA Tour Mizuno had already announced continuations for promising newcomers Keith Mitchell and Adam Schenk.  Luke Donald, Stacy Lewis, Jhonattan Vegas ,Nick Watney and Lucas Glover also remain into 2018.

Big hitting Adam Schenk continues with Mizuno on the PGA Tour.

American Keith Mitchell gives an increasingly fresh face to Mizuno on the PGA Tour for 2018.

Added to some very high profile players on both tours currently using Mizuno irons out of contract, the future on tour looks increasingly fresh and forward thinking.

In the opposite direction Mizuno sadly said goodbye to 3 time European Tour winner Chris Wood who will use a Hilton bag for 2018.  Wood has been signed to Mizuno since 2010.

Full equipment information and custom specs on all of Mizuno’s new players for 2018 will be available on our players page from 1 Feb.
