Chris Wood Qualifies for European Ryder Cup Team

Debut appearance for Chris Wood

Chris Wood has cause for celebration this week.  Mizuno’s Wood qualified for his debut Ryder Cup with a week to spare – in the same week he was married. Wood has showed consistently good form over the last 12 months, winning the European Tour’s flagship event – the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Mizuno’s Luke Donald faces a wait on the captain’s picks.  A second place (-16) finish at the Wyndham Championship proved that Donald is in good form and may have given captain Darren Clarke some cause to think.  Donald also carries a great Ryder Cup pedigree, as the only player ever to be on the winning team against America in each of his four Cups.
