Broch Larsen records first win for the JPX900 driver
Nicole plays her way to LPGA final qualifying
With her play-off win at the season ending Symetra Tour Championship, Nicole Broch Larsen became the first Mizuno player to record a notable tour win with JPX900 – on just her second outing with the new JPX900 driver, JPX900 fairway wood and JPX900 hybrid.
Larsen won with a 14-foot birdie putt on the par-3 18th on the first extra hole at Alaqua Country Club after finishing with a shot 4-under 67 to and 18-under 266 (one off the tour record of 19 under).
“I’m glad I made the move to the new driver,” Broch Larsen said. “It’s such an important time of year, so I wouldn’t normally switch now. But the 900 was going so well in testing I thought – why not?”
“I played the previous generation for quite a while, but the JPX900 is a big step on in stability. I’m getting a really good flight with the weights set up right for me and it’s a lot more stable on miss-hits.” Nicole also played a JPX900 fairway wood and JPX900 hybrid.
The win earned Nicole $30,000 to jump from 69th to 20th on the money list, enough to get a spot in the final stage of LPGA Tour Q-school.
The JPX900 woods are available in Europe from Feb 1 2017.
